Buskerfest Toronto 2013

The Toronto BuskerFest in St. Lawrence Market Neighbourhood is a unique fundraiser that goes beyond the ubiquitous marathons, triathlons, and 5K fun-runs. BuskerFest supports Epilepsy Toronto, and it's a great way to close out the summer festival season. Hundreds of wild and madcap street performers—aka buskers—entertain the crowds over 4 days. It's a colorful and fun event with clowns, aerialists, fire dancers, puppets, acrobats, contortionists, and musicians. 

The price of admission is whatever you'd like to donate to the cause. Be sure to show the performers your appreciation of their amazing talents when they pass the hat after a show. It's a good idea to bring camp chairs, water bottles, sunscreen, and umbrellas, too. Kids' activities take place at BuskerPlay in Market Lane Park. Here they can get their faces painted, wear balloon art, and take on the inflatable maze. They can even decorate their own BuskerFest T-shirt in the Scotiabank Tent—and it's all free!
 
One of the many exciting things about street performers is you never know when they'll show up—that's why there's no advance BuskerFest event schedule. Each performance pitch has a board you can check with hourly scheduling updates. So hang out, grab a bite, and let the jubilation inspire you!
 
There are two BuskerFest benefit shows with proceeds donated to Epilepsy Toronto. The first is the Fire Show at 9:30 p.m. on August 23, on the Stage at Front and Church. It's bound to be a hot one! The second show is the Grand Finale on August 25 at 6:30 p.m., in Berczy Park. The audience gets to vote on their favorite performers, who will then be invited back to BuskerFest next year.
